[News Release]Nippon Craft Beer Changes Name to Far Yeast Brewing Company

TOKYO, Japan – October 28, 2015 – Nippon Craft Beer Inc. (NCB) is announcing that it will be renaming the company to Far Yeast Brewing Company as of October 30 2015.

(3) Reason: To clearly define its position as a brewer

Nippon Craft Beer Inc. was founded in September 2011 as a “phantom brewery,” a beer producing company with no brewing facilities. However, as the company has grown over the last four years, it is now working on opening its own brewery in Japan. With this exciting development, the company decided it would be important to rename the company to clarify and emphasize its position in the market as a brewer.

The name Far Yeast originates from the craft beer brand the company launched in April 2013, which served as the follow-up to its first brand, Kagua. The thinking was that as Japan is often referred to as being in the “Far East” by those in Europe – the birthplace of beer – the company aimed to deliver great beers from this far east place. This explains not only why the company named one of its beers Far Yeast, but it also describes the overall philosophy of the company.

* The change is subject to the approval of Partial Changes in its Articles of Incorporation at the Annual General Meeting of shareholders scheduled to be held on October 30, 2015.
* There will be no changes made at this time to the company’s two brands, Kagua and Far Yeast.

Far Yeast Brewing Company (former Nippon Craft Beer Inc.) was founded in September 2011 with the objective to deliver the best beer throughout the world. On March 24, 2012 it launched its first product, Kagua, which is now available in more than 300 high-end restaurants in Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Paris and the United States. Plans are in the works for further global expansion and development of new product lines in order to realize the mission of “Democratizing Beer” – creating unique beers for discerning people all over the world.

10月も各地でイベントに出店します。


10月も日本クラフトビールでは各地で開催されるイベントに参加します。
今回初開催のイベントも多数です。お誘い合わせの上美味しいビールを楽しみいらしください。

2015年10月のイベント出店予定

■10/1〜4 ブリュセレンシスビアフェスティバル

希少価値の高いベルギービール100種以上が楽しめます。今回は埼玉スーバーアリーナ横のけやきひろばにて開催。日本最多となる80種以上の樽生ベルギービールが楽しめます。

■10/9〜12 大阪城クラフトビアホリデイ

今回初開催となるクラフトビール＆こだわりのフードの祭典。日本各地からブルワリ―20店舗が出店予定。大阪城公園の芝生や木陰など、開放的な気分でクラフトビールを楽しめます。

全天候・半野外のウッドデッキで、愛知県を中心としたブルワリーのクラフトビールが楽しめます。会場内ではライブミュージックも開催されます。

今回初開催の日本最大級のクラフトビールの祭典。、約8000平米ある旧東京電機大学跡地に北海道から九州まで全国各地のご当地クラフトビール、そしてアメリカやドイツ、ベルギーといった海外のクラフトビールなど200種類以上が集結します。

Far Yeast First Ascent IPA 樽の出荷を開始します。

先日発表しました「Far Yeast」の限定醸造「First Ascent IPA」、樽商品の出荷を本日より開始いたします。

「Far Yeast First Ascent IPA」は、ホップのアロマとフレーバーを前面に押し出した、爽快な「アメリカンIPA」スタイルです。メインのアロマホップには日本ではまだ珍しいニュージーランド産の“ワイミヤ”品種を使用し、オリジナリティ溢れる新しいタイプのIPAに仕上がっています。
